Iberdrola Australia First Nations Scholarship Program

Program details

Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $15,000 per annum.

  • Be a domestic student currently residing in Australia.
  • Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. 
  • Have completed at least one full year of successful study in the relevant discipline.
  • Maintain a successful completion of each semester during period of scholarship award, meaning a minimum “Pass” result in each subject studied in a semester, with no failures.
  • Be a student studying one of Engineering, Environmental Science and/or Management, Social Science, Science, Data Science, Information Technology (Data, Architecture, Cybersecurity), Business (Human Resources, Accounting, Economics, Finance), Commerce and Law.
  • Be an undergraduate student studying full-time.

To apply applicants will need to submit:

  1. A personal statement outlining how you intend to give back to the community, your academic and/or career aspirations, and how this scholarship will support your studies and help you achieve these goals (300-word limit).
  2. Curriculum Vitae (500-word limit).
  3. Proof of successful completion of at least one full year study in the relevant discipline.
  4. A copy of your most up-to-date academic transcript.
  5. Proof of enrolment at an Australian University.
  6. One academic or professional reference.
  7. One reference from your local Aboriginal community organisation such as an Aboriginal Heritage Association, Aboriginal Corporation or Land Council.

Please note: If an applicant holds other scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection.

Please note: Iberdrola Australia gives first preference to people from or studying in the regions where our renewable energy assets are located. In addition, some of the key regions we are focussed on include Far West NSW, New England NSW, Far North Queensland and Central Queensland.

Applications for 2024 are now closed. The next round of scholarships will open later this year.
