Tailor-made, architecturally aesthetic with plants and water management
Iberdrola Australia designed and installed three solar shading structures for Western Sydney University (WSU) at the Parramatta, Hawkesbury and Campbelltown campuses.
Each campus has a defined and unique aesthetic. We designed the solar systems to match the university's specific design brief for each respective location. This was achieved by matching brick patterns with tiles installed on the columns at the Parramatta and Campbelltown campuses, and by using reclaimed timber panels on the columns of the carport structure at the Hawkesbury campus to provide a rustic and grounded look.
Iberdrola Australia undertook the full scope of works including demolition, civil, foundation, steel structure, solar, electrical, landscaping, cladding, asphalting & line marking.
WSU is the number one university in the world in terms of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal compliance. Solar electricity and large-scale renewable certificates from the solar carpark will help the university maintain its position at the top in terms of its focus on sustainability and on-site renewable energy generation.
Our team worked closely with WSU to deliver the systems on live sites with minimal impact to site operations. Together with meeting the specific design aesthetics, this meant that each of the respective projects was very well received by the client.
