Westfield Fountaingate & Knox Rooftop Solar PV Systems

Iberdrola Australia successfully delivered two significant solar projects for Scentre Group, the owner of Westfield Shopping Centres. These projects involved the design and installation of a 2.8 MW rooftop solar PV system at Westfield Fountain Gate in Melbourne’s west and a 1.65 MW system at Westfield Knox in Melbourne’s east.

Both systems were installed concurrently. The successful execution of these projects is a testament to the meticulous planning, excellent communication, and diligent coordination of our Project Delivery team. Despite the complexity of installing commercial solar systems with multiple connection points in a busy shopping centre environment, our team ensured that operations were not disrupted.

Each solar system’s data monitoring is fully integrated within the respective site’s Building Management Systems, providing Scentre Group with complete visibility of the systems’ performance and energy contribution.

These projects are part of Scentre Group’s broader ambition to achieve net zero (scope 1 and 2) emissions by 2030. The successful installation of these solar PV systems adds to the portfolio of previous solar projects completed for Scentre Group across Australia.

Iberdrola Australia maintains the systems under an ongoing service level agreement, which includes a Performance Guarantee of energy generation. This ongoing partnership ensures the sustained performance and reliability of the solar installations.
